• Galen Leung, clinical assistant professor of medicine at Penn Medicine, is awarded a McCabe Pilot Award to work with PCASO on investigating the use of computer vision for endoscopic submucosal dissection

• Fariha Tamboli graduates from Penn Engineering with a Master's in Robotics! She is continuing at PCASO through the summer as a research assistant

• PCASO's multidisciplinary team of surgeons, computer scientists, and gastroenterologists was awarded a research grant from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy to investigate the use of computer vision and lifelong learning to guide submucosal dissection in per oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD)

•  Daniel Hashimoto featured on PennMedicine MD podcast discussing AI in surgery.

• Daniel Hashimoto joins the American College of Surgeons, American Surgical Association, American Board of Surgery Blue Ribbon Committee II panel on surgical education as an AI consultant. The original Blue Ribbon Committee met in 2002.
